This reminds me when...

... I used to be a kid, always playing with cars. Lately, Alex (2) has been carrying around some matchbox cars wherever he goes... Out to eat, in the car, and he's got them right there when he wakes up, naturally.

It seems to me that having simple things to be passionate about are one of the key ingredients for happiness. As life gets busy, this becomes challenging but Alex reminds me that I need to make some time for some simple passions.

Let me tell you... I'm so excited about 2010! My business partner (Rick) and I have been working lately on planning for this coming year, including the next version of our content management system (CambioCMS, as it's currently called). Here's a quick screenshot of how it currently looks when you use CambioCMS to update a page on your website... super easy, super slick.

Well, we're working hard to come out with the next official release of CambioCMS early next year and we're very excited about it. More on this later...

Top 5 reasons to be an entrepreneur

Although there are certainly some downfalls to being an entrepreneur (more on this later), there are definitely some great things about. My top 5 are (in no particular order):

1). Control. Feeling like I have more control over my future.

2). Challenging. I like a good challenge that stretches me... there is no end to challenges I'm faced with as an entrepreneur.

3). Flexible schedule. There's something to be said about being able to go down to my kids' school for their activities when I want, without having to ask a boss.

4). ROI. Can't say I've seen this one come to pas quite yet, but hopefully someday soon it will. You can't sell your job to another person after a few years like you can a company.

5). Doing what I love. I enjoy the freedom to follow my passions rather than the passions of a boss.

who needs a rope when you've got some buddies to help!

A couple of behind-the-scenes shots of my two brothers-n-law and cousin helping me put up the Christmas tree lights this year. Mike was nominated to be the one hanging on for dear life since he weighed the least (actually, I think Steve weighs less but Mike was still voted). And trust me, it sure seems a lot higher than these pictures indicate when you're up there without any ropes!

I would have never tried to do that part of the roof without you guys, to thanks again for all your help, Brian, Mike and Steve!
